Yarrow Valley · Chorley
Christmas, an enchanted wonderland.
Come winter, the whole centre turns to Christmas: rooms of trees and light, displays held in secret until the grand unveiling, and a restaurant cooking for the season. The gifts and decorations are chosen with the same care as the rest of the year — pieces you keep, not things you throw away in January.
Come when it is revealed. Until then, we will not spoil it.
Find your way in
The season, in rooms.
This year
What will the Christmas theme be this year?
The theme is already chosen, already being built, and already held in secret. A winter forest. A house dressed after dark. Rooms of light you walk through, one after another. It could be any of these, or none of them — we will not say. Come to the grand opening: that is when the theme is revealed, and not a moment sooner.
The restaurant
Seasonal fare.
The restaurant cooks as it always does, with the season on the plate. Breakfast until eleven, lunch from half past, and — in the Christmas weeks — Wednesday and Thursday evenings until seven. Home cooking and baking, gluten-free options, and a handful of dog-friendly tables booked by phone.
It is the right pause in a long visit: walk the displays, choose a gift, then sit down. Book if you can; walk in if you cannot. If the restaurant is full, we will give you a buzzer so you can keep browsing.
Call 01257 270473 and press 1 for the restaurant, or book a table online.
The centre
Given over to Christmas.
From November, most of the floor is Christmas. Not a corner, and not a trolley of leftover baubles: rooms of decorations, personal gifts, trees, and the pieces that make a house feel finished for the winter. The garden centre becomes a winter house, in Yarrow Valley, with room to walk and to choose.
We hold a wide range, but the standard does not drop. Glass, metal, ribbon, evergreens, and gifts you would be pleased to unwrap — or to keep. Staff who know the collections will help you find something that belongs, rather than something that merely looks festive under shop lights.
Free parking, and lunch next door. Allow an afternoon.
Gifts
Something that lasts.
Personal gifts, properly chosen: for the house, for the table, for someone who already has enough. Pieces from the home collections sit beside smaller things that still feel considered — not novelty, not filler.
We would rather you leave with one thing that belongs than a basket of things that do not. If the choosing is theirs, a Birkacre gift card does the same job, from five pounds, to use anywhere in the centre.
Bring a list if you like. We are happy to walk it with you.
Decorations
For the tree, and the house.
Decorations for the house as well as the tree. Glass, metal, candlelight, ribbon and evergreens, chosen to the same standard as the rest of the centre — wreaths for the door, pieces for the mantel and the table, and trees of the finest quality quality.
